We hosted an extremely successful carnival this morning to raise money for the special education school. The total amount we do not yet know but you could tell it was a huge success. We set up and manned nail painting, face painting, hair does, trampolines, a soccer kicking game, and a raffle. The teachers of the school had a bracelet sale that the kids made along with weaving things to buy. The most impressive part was that all of the families of the kids brought food to sell. There was SO MUCH food, about 50 different people selling entire meals worth of food. And it looked like most families sold out and fast. We also had a guy on the microphone and Ricardo djing the entire time. For half of the time I managed the trampoline which got pretty hectic at times. For the other half I helped with the soccer game and kind of just floated around and helped people who needed it. Whitney was extremely impressive doing hair the entire time, Nicole did 70 diferent kids nails for 4 hours straight, Ryan manned the boys trampoline the entire time (much harder than the girls that I had), and Varun painted faces the whole time. We really worked hard this morning and after the Mercadito was over we were so happy with the results but also extremely wiped out.
Also I was wearing Traje all morning and woke up earlier for her to put it on me! Halfway through the Mercadito my skirt was basically off (nothing under it) and teenage girls wearing the same clothes as me had to run over and help me put it back on! It really is not comfortable at all, it feels like you are suffocating, but it was really pretty and the people really appreciate when you wear their traje.

I returned home for a lunch of chicken, vegetables, tortillas and rice and we had an hour of free time before we had to prep for tomorrow's campaign. Because we plan on giving a Charla about our stoves we had to write a script for our presentation and make our posters. It was a lot to do after such a long morning! But the work was broken apart by another fun soccer game!
We played at the same field as before but with a few players not on our team anymore we did not exactly have the same results as last time. The Guatemalans definitely wanted revenge and even though we were up 3-0 from the start, the gringos lost 10-8, but I scored two goals! One being a last second header from Muoser to my head straight into the goal! Ryan played amazing and scored 5 goals!
The poster we made! I really have been using my non existent artistic abilities to their full potential
After soccer we finished working on our posters and scripts for tomorrow until dinner. For dinner I had eggs, tortillas, salsa, and plantains (was not served the refried beans woo!). Efraim has a natural science test tomorrow and after dinner I helped him and his mom study for the test. It was all about changes in states form solid to liquid to gas and types of energy. I knew all of it even though it was in Spanish and there were a bunch of questions they could not find the answer to that I could understand and teach them! We worked on that for over an hour as Efraim was pretending to sleep, not listening, and acting like this was the worst thing in the world. But Nilo and I were insistent that he keep studying for his test tomorrow.
I finally got to shower at 9:45 and tomorrow we have to wake up at 5am to go to our campaign....soo early. Hopefully the stove charla will go as planned and we sell lots of glasses tomorrow. Good night for now!
